Let's have a look at the top 10 countries from which newcomers are migrating from, into Canada!

What makes Canada so great? Is it the abundance of natural resources and destinations within the world's second-largest country in physical size? Or is it its' high-quality educational system sought after and renowned around the world?

Well, it's a mix of reasons! One of them is because of its' largely multicultural makeup, due to the high tolerance and easiness of accepting other races and nationalities into their own country.

And to prove this, let's have a look at where the most newcomers originated from within the last year:

Total New Immigrants in 2019 341,180

1. India 85,585

2. China 30,260

3. Philippines 27,815

4. Nigeria 12,595

5. U.S.A. 10,800

6. Pakistan 10,790

7. Syria 10,120

8. Eritrea 7,025

9. Korea 6,110

10. Iran 6,055

India leads the pack claiming 25% of all newcomers, followed by China which accounts for 9% of all immigrants.

A noteworthy source is Syria, which continues to rise year-over-year due to its volatile and unstable political environment, forcing a lot of immigrants and also refugees to call Canada their new permanent homes.
